My retell of Max and Alice

In reading I read a story called Max ans Alice. I hope you enjoy reading it.

On the day of swimming sports, everyone was waiting in the bus. Everyone except for Max, he was busy making sure his shoes and socks were lined up. Everyone was laughing at him, except for Alice. Mr Sandbrook told them to be quiet but instead of being quiet they chuckled and giggled and made fun of him. Alice stared at Max as he carefully lined up each sock and shoe. She smiled at him as he smiled back. Finally Max hopped on the bus. When he got on the bus, everyone was calling him names like Sock Boy and Shoe Man. Max started to cry and sob and weep. He was so sad so he sat by himself. Alice saw Max all alone and sat by him the whole way there.

After swimming sports they went back to school to learn. There was a fire bell, all of the students ran under the tables and under the chairs. But Max ran under Mr Sandbook’s table. He was away from everyone else.

When the drill was over, Max didn’t want to get out. But somehow Alice managed to get Max out by showing him a picture book, that she had got from her aunty last year, for her birthday. Max looked at the picture book and decided to come out. When he came out everyone called him names like Table Boy or Picture Book Man. He did not like it one bit. So Max shouted across the room “I DON'T LIKE YOU CALLING ME NAMES!” Everyone was silent for a moment. Then everyone just blurted out his names again. Sock Boy, Shoe Man, Table Boy and even Picture Book Man. They went on and on and on making up new names. But before they said the other names he said “STOP!”

Max went to Mrs Danillellas (who was their Principal.) He told her what had happened. Mrs Danillellas called Max's Mum and Max went home.

Cross Country

On Thursday the 8th of August the whole school was at the Cutler’s farm for Cross country. To get to the farm, we had to walk down a muddy and smelly track. When all of the students were there, we all walked over to the gazebo to start the races. First went the seniors, next the juniors. We were second to last to run .

When Mrs Watson yelled, “GO!”, we all ran through the mud and nearly slipped over. When we came to the plank, I felt like I was going to fall… and I nearly did! But I kept on running again. Finally, we got to the hill. I tumbled down, but i got up again. Then I passed where Sittie was standing. At the trough I passed Mrs Ryken, and there was a MASSIVE pile of mud just before the finish line. I came first place! I was relieved that it was finally over. It was a long, long, long run and I was so tired. I just wanted to go to sleep. But I felt fit and like I could run more (even though I didn't want to).

I loved slipping and sliding through the mud. It was fun… And funny too, for some reason. I really enjoyed cross country. I always love cross country. It's fun and I want to do it again next year. YAY!
